What is Freebie Friday?
Freebie Friday is a promotional email offering free audiobook deals to Chirp users subscribed to relevant categories. Each author’s promotion contains one free audiobook that will be promoted in the email and two+ discounted related deals that will be merchandised on the site to encourage follow-on sales.
What are the submission requirements for Freebie Friday?
Audiobooks must be for sale on Chirp in order to be considered for Chirp audiobook deals. Learn about adding titles to Chirp here. Each Freebie Friday submission must consist of one free book and at least two discounted related books.

What is the submission process like for Freebie Friday?
You can submit a title and its related books for consideration as a Freebie Friday promotion here. Once you’ve made your submission, our team will review it. We’re scheduling Freebie Friday deals up to four months in advance, and we’ll let you know whether or not your audiobook has been selected for a deal and its scheduled promotional date within two weeks of your submission. Due to the volume of submissions we receive, we are unable to respond to submissions that are not selected.
What happens if my book is selected for a Freebie Friday promotion?
If your book is selected, all you’ll have to do is confirm the promotion details! We will write a short description of your audiobook highlighting the elements that will most excite our users, coordinate the discounts for your books with your distributor, and send the deal to Chirp users subscribed to your book’s categories on your scheduled promotion date. Freebie Friday deals are available for four days, Friday to Monday.
How are Freebie Friday promotions set up?
Like with running a featured deal on Chirp, you don’t need to do anything to set up the discount! The Chirp team will handle coordinating all discounts — both free and paid. You do not need to set any discounts up on your end.
Do related deals have to be in the same series?
No — you can select any titles that you have the rights for to run alongside your Freebie Friday deal!
How should I price my related deals?
You have two options for pricing related deals: implement tiered pricing (e.g., the first related deal at $0.99, with each subsequent book priced a dollar higher) or offer all follow-on books at the same low price (e.g., $0.99 for each). While lower prices typically drive more sales, authors vary in their comfort with down-pricing and have different promotional goals, so the best approach depends on your specific objectives.
How much does a Freebie Friday deal cost? How will I be charged?
If you are selected for Freebie Friday, the current cost of the feature is a flat fee of $150, regardless of book category. It’s completely free to submit your book to our editorial team for consideration, and you will only receive an invoice once you’ve confirmed the details of your Freebie Friday promotion.
The flat fee of $150 for your Freebie Friday promotion is due 14 days before your promotion scheduled date.
Please note that we may adjust our pricing periodically to account for changing results.
Can I cancel my Freebie Friday promotion after I have confirmed?
To receive a full refund, please alert us to cancellations at least seven days before your feature is scheduled to run. We are not able to guarantee refunds if you cancel your order less than seven days before your feature is scheduled to run.
What are the average results of a Chirp Freebie Friday promotion?
Freebie Friday is still in its early stages, but early results show that you can expect thousands of downloads for your free title, along with hundreds to thousands of units sold for related deals. Keep in mind that results may vary depending on the specifics of your title.
